Hanwha Ocean says it will debut its first 60-megawatt floating data center at Thailand's Gastech 2026, which starts September 14. The announcement came on September 13.
Características técnicas do FDC
The data center will sit on an offshore platform. It generates its own power at sea, uses seawater for cooling, and has a modular design. That means power setups, server types, and capacity can be adjusted based on where it's installed and what the client needs.
Certificação e exibição na Gastech 2026
The company got Approval in Principle (AiP) from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for the 60MW FDC's conceptual design. It will display a model at the fair, which starts September 14 in Thailand.
Outro projeto apresentado: portador de GNL zero‑carbono
At the same fair, Hanwha Ocean will also show a 174,000-cubic-meter zero-carbon LNG carrier model. It uses electric propulsion with an ammonia turbine, aiming to cut pilot oil use even during ignition.
